Songs to give a listen: “Friends” by Francis and the Lights (feat. Bon Iver), “Avalanche” by Chris Trapper, “True Colors” by Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake (from Trolls)
Movies/Shows to watch: Baby Driver: pretty intense (gory violence is not my cup of joe; although, it wasn’t Tarantino gore), enjoyed how the music synced with action throughout the film, Big Sick: charming, honest comedy, meaning, truth/life is often funnier than fiction. No embellishments. The Great British Baking Show: Masterclass (on Netflix): I love watching cooking shows in general, but I love the interaction between Mary Berry (love her name) and Paul Hollywood and watching each of their special skills. Mary bakes cakes and dessert items while Paul specializes in sweet and savory breads. My favorite part of their show is watching them sit down at the table and enjoy their goods with tea. So British–I love it.
Things my toddler says (frequently): “But it’s my favorite“: Her excuse for things she can’t have/do. “What do you want me to do?“: When we tell her she can’t do something. “I’m hungry“: Hungry to eat snacks but not hungry enough to eat her meal.
Books I’m reading: Ordinary by Michael Horton: almost finished, thoughtful and convicting reminders, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: giving it a try but fell asleep after the first chapter’s title (haha… well! it was because I was really tired the time I opened it last/yesterday), Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow: Will I ever be able to watch the musical? Perhaps not, but I can imagine what it would be like after reading the book that inspired Lin-Manuel and by listening to the soundtrack.
Concerns: 1) my teeth: while eating popcorn, a bit of the top part of a tooth next to my gum (please excuse my poor description; I have absolutely no knowledge of dentist lingo except ‘bicuspid’, ‘cavity’, and ‘root canal’) broke off. I do have a dentist appointment, but I think my dentist is scared to do anything to me because of my health. Hm. Save my life? Save my teeth? Save both, please? 2) upcoming scans to re-stage: praying so hard that there is improvement/shrinkage.
